Once you have become well acquainted with building your website, and your site is ready to launch, the next thing to do is publish it to the web. The reason most people create websites is to market their products or services. That said, simply having a website is not going to insure that people will be signing up for what you have to offer.

Once you have selected the hosting company for your website, you will want to make sure that to purchase a domain name. Sometimes these steps in building a website get reversed, and that is quite all right. What you are looking for is an address to direct visitors to your site with and hosting for the pages you build.

Be aware though: Only you know why you are writing your site. If it is because you have information that you wish to share or a product you wish to sell, then keep that focus in mind. My reasons — to share what I am learning, to learn more about my own personal finances, to be accountable to someone for maintaining my new system of personal finance — have led me to reject joining certain offered programs. I will not disparage programs, but, I was given an opportunity to try a “training program” for 14 days. The free materials were very good and readable, but once i got closer to having to sign up, the posts started looking very much like a sales pitch for a “pyramid” scheme.

When you become a more advanced user, you can feel free to use notepad. Notepad files can be used to create code for your website (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc) and that code can be saved as a .htm file. Once saved, it can be opened in a web browser and viewed. This is a bit of a roundabout process however, and if you have a good web development suite, you will be able to create your document and view it in real time. This method will save you a lot of time and effort, and many choose it for web design.

Your software may be blocking your content from the engines. This is an old problem that most web design software has fixed, but it still happens. Sometimes there is so much different code from the software that you are identified as that software company instead of your own company.

I bought a scanner and started to generate images for my websites. Unfortunately, most of my photographs were transparencies. So i had to copy and develop them into photo prints before I could scan them.

After surfing for some time on the Internet, the knowledge in me gradually grew. I picked up bits and pieces everywhere. By the time, the MLM collapsed, I was already well versed in html language and i was no longer that fresh. I had also acquired the necessary photo editing skills to make presentable websites.
